Glutathione

Glutathione, (pronounced “gloota-thigh-own”) the “Mother of all antioxidants” is a substance produced naturally by the liver and is found in large amounts in the brain and spinal fluid.   It is also found in fruits and vegetables especially, the sulfur-rich foods such as garlic, onions, and the cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, kale, collards, cabbage, cauliflower and watercress).
Taking Glutathione orally is not usually very effective because it is broken down in the stomach before it is absorbed in the blood stream; this is why we recommend Intravenous in certain cases.
Glutathione is known as the “Master Detoxifier” as well as the “Maestro of the Immune System” helping to boost the immune system to it’s greater potential.
Glutathione may be depleted with poor diet, pollution, toxins, medications, stress, trauma, aging, infections, chemotherapy and radiation.
The body is then susceptible to cell disintegration from oxidative stress, free radicals, infections and cancer. The liver becomes overloaded and damaged thus compromising it’s action detoxification.
Glutathione is involved in many processes in the body, including tissue building and repair, making chemicals and proteins needed in the body and critical for the immune function and controlling inflammation. As the master detoxifier and the body’s main antioxidant, it protects our cells and enhances our energy metabolism.
